Lovewell Farm

a continuing education community for autistic adults

Mission Statement

Lovewell Farm will be created to provide adult autistic individuals a sheltered enriching opportunity to live dignified lives in a Massachusetts agricultural group home environment.

Staff on Lovewell Farm are expected to be both teachers and farmhands. It will be their job to supervise the safety and quality of the chores performed by the residents. One of the key goals is to enable them to acquire and maintain the skills needed to run the farm, expand on their social skills, and to become comfortable working adults. A farm can be an important part of the community. Our residents will be involved to the best of their ability in the community at large in whatever area we settle in.

Non Discriminating Policy

Autism comes in all skin colors. It effects those of all religious heritages and classes. These are not the factors we care about when deciding who will be in our program. What is important is if we are the best program for the person applying, not what color they are on the outside.

A Dream

At the moment this is a beautiful dream. Our son Jonathan just turned 18 in 2007. In 2011 he will need an adult program. We would like to develop a program for him and a few other autistic adults like him. A lot is still needed to turn this dream into reality. Mostly it needs some more people who can help develop the program and assist us to figure out how to acquire the funding needed to get this this up and running.

I can see the farm. I can see the young people digging, weeding in their large garden. I see them grooming some large animals. I see them cooking dinner and cleaning the house. Going to the store and to the movies. They will be getting exercise and doing useful meaningful things.

Please Donate

All proceeds will be used to further our project. We are a non profit, tax exempt corperation. Our main goal is having a wonderful home and job for Autistic Adults.
